Carley is a dental hygienist working here in Rome. She grew up, studied and received her degree in New Jersey and has also lived in New York where she met her husband, Giuseppe, then briefly lived in London and has now settled comfortably in Rome.

As a health care advocate, Carley sees that each of her patients has a pleasant experience. She believes that an educated patient is key to good health and preventive care. She firmly believes it is best to prevent problems rather than curing them. Through patient education, she is able to encourage these values.

Carley creates positive reinforcing, especially when working on children. She was trained in the care of children and understands that a child simply wants to understand what is going on. She uses the "Tell-Show-Do" technique which involves first explaining what she will do, then showing the child what she will be using, then preforming it. This approach results in happy kids and good experiences.

She also encourages parents to contact her for advice on prepping children for coming to the dentist, on cavity prevention and on tooth brushing lessons.

On a personal level, Carley enjoys exploring the city of Rome and has quite a unique photography collection she has captured. She is currently working on a personal collection of the doors of her life and has a collection from many cities in Italy as well as England, Japan and the Netherlands. She also loves Nature and you can very likely find her in the parks of Rome, usually with her camera in hand. Her main goal in life is to continue traveling, take photos and to volunteer her medical experience in countries in need.
